Local Delicacies

There are many local delicacies to enjoy in different parts of Kyushu. For example, locally branded beef, especially in Saga, is superb. There is also tasty seafood you can try. The squid and eel in this region are very well-known to be delicious delicacies.

Sightseeing Spots

There are so many beautiful places in Kyushu to go and see. I can guide you to a variety of historical spots, such as Kumamoto Castle, Mount Aso, and the Shimabara Samurai Residence.
I also recommend a tour including a visit to the “Seven Hells” hot springs, so named because the water in them reach temperatures of 100 degrees Celsius.

How about trying your hand at making some pottery? There are many areas around Kyushu which are famous for its pottery: Arita and Karatsu in Saga, as well as Koishiwara in Fukuoka. There is plenty of pottery to see and to purchase.

Picking Fruit

Each season there are different types of fruit that travelers can pick when they are in season. In winter and spring, strawberry picking is very popular. Also, in winter, apples and persimmons are ripe to be picked. Figs and grapes can be picked in summer. The fall has pears while all year-round tea can be picked. However, the best season for high quality green tea is May.
